Last weekend, I let out my inner geek and attended the first ever ComicCon in Copenhagen, which was conveniently held at Bella Center super close to my house.
I’ve never been to a ComicCon, but I would definitely say that I can geek out over a couple of things, Star Wars being one of them. I’m also a big series junkie, and one of the aspects that’s always fascinated me about ComicCons are the panels with actors from TV shows and films where they answer questions, release new trailers, etc.
The Copenhagen ComicCon was definitely very games-heavy. There were a couple of celebrity guests, most notably Alycia Debnam-Carey from The 100 and Fear The Walking Dead, and Kerry Ingram, who played Shireen Baratheon on Game of Thrones. I didn’t really know any of the other actors, it was a handful or so. I went to Kerry Ingram’s panel, and she was perfectly sweet and entertaining, sharing some behind-the-scenes information about GoT, but her character was very minor and is also dead (sorry, spoilers, but she died like a whole season ago, so…). Kit Harington or Peter Dinklage would have been AWESOME guests, but maybe next year!
Generally, I’d just planned to walk around and experience my first ever ComicCon, without too much program in mind. We did try to play the new Tekken 7 (and I kicked the boyfriend’s butt with my proven and tested thumb-smashing-on-the-controler technique) - which was a blast from the past, as I used to spend long nights at my best friend’s house as a teenager playing Tekken 3 (I think) and eating greasy Chinese take-out.
We also sat on the Iron Throne for a little photo op, because why wouldn’t we?
Another highlight was the Star Wars costume organizations, the Rebel Legion Nordic Base and the 501st Legion, who had about 15 people in full costumes from both the Rebels and the Empire. Plus a cuddly Ewok! I loved them as a kid!
There were so many cool Star Wars costumes that I totally want to be part of the club and dress up, too! Here’s a Snow Trooper and a Sand Trooper:
Bounty hunter Boba Fett:
Three Jedi:
An Arc Trooper:
And a Rebel X-wing pilot:
Generally, the costumes and cosplayers were the clear highlight of the Con. I saw so many cool costumes - some of them are fun, Halloween-type costumes, but a lot of them are handmade cosplay outfits with incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail.
A few snaps below, but this is just a small sample. For half of them, I have no idea who or what the character is or what show/ film/ comic/ anime/ … they are from. Sometimes I asked, some I forgot - here’s what I remember!
We start off with an easy one - I found two Waldos!
Next, I think I overheard that this is a character from Final Fantasy, but I’m not sure. Any guesses?
Creativity points for this minimalist Pikachu:
One of my favorites, ever: Frodo! Sam is bae, but I still love Frodo. And Elijah Wood. But that’s a different story.
This here is a guy named Thrall Doomhammer (best last name EVER) and he’s from World of Warcraft. I was actually dragged to see the movie (and obliged because I will never say no to Travis Fimmel), but don’t remember this character specifically - maybe he wasn’t in it or maybe I just saw a bunch of green dudes and couldn’t really tell them apart (is that Orc racism? I’m sorry!).
This lady’s outfit was quite something: nine bushy tails, and she even had red or pink contact lenses! The character is Ahri from League of Legends.
The Mad Hatter:
Season 2 Daenerys Targaryen, incl. a baby dragon (I’m going to assume it’s Drogon):
And finally, Commander Lexa (heda) - this was Alycia Debnam-Carey’s character on The 100.
Did any of you attend ComicCon? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!

Hi, thanks so much for your comment! Hope you enjoyed the Con. Unfortunately, I don’t know the Lexa cosplayer - try to check the Copenhagen ComicCon Facebook page and event page, I think a lot of people posted their pictures there or asked to be tagged, maybe you’ll find her there! :)
