This past weekend has been nothing short of awesome! Even though the sun disappeared just in time for my two days off, there was still the scent of spring in the air, and many fun activities to brighten up my days. Like a delicious steak dinner on Saturday, or a fun family birthday with loads of good food on Sunday. But the absolute highlight of my weekend happened Saturday morning: I finally, finally, finally got my very own vintage bar cart!
You might know from reading this blog that I’ve wanted a bar cart for, like… forever (here’s a post about it), and I wanted it to be a vintage but not shabby, whimsical but still stylish, en vogue but still timeless. And last year, I came close to actually getting one, when I walked past an antiques store and saw it in the window – but it was reserved and subsequently sold (side note: the guy who bought it put it in his barber shop and serves coffee on it. COFFEE! On a bar cart! My heart weeps.). But I liked the store, simply called “old“, located near Nørreport station, so I started following them on Instagram (@oldkbh). And on Saturday morning, they posted a picture of two new bar carts, and I just knew: THAT ONE had to be mine! So I commented on the post, saying I wanted to reserve it, but got no answer. This was about half an hour before they opened. What to do? Confused boyfriend in tow, I immediately hopped on the next bus to Nørreport! By that time, four or five other people had already commented on the Instagram picture. Completely panicky, I called the store – this was about 10 minutes after opening – and managed to reserve the cart for real. And good thing I did, because when we got there about half an hour later, three other people had already called about the cart! But lucky me, I got it and it couldn’t be more perfect! Now I’ll need to get into drink mixing for real!
The cocktail book in the back is called “Speakeasy” and has an abundance of classic cocktail recipes – plus tons of beautifully shot photos and background knowledge to the drinks. The crystal bottle is a vintage store find and a gift from my sisters.
The gold-rimmed glasses are from Søstrene Grene, the champagne glass on the right is vintage, and the paper straws are from Miss Étoile.
We loved the Ron Matusalem when we tried it at the rum tasting last fall, so of course we had to get a bottle for ourselves!
That cart is gorgeous! I envy you though I barely drink:-)
Thank you, Sarita! I’m sure one of these would look great as a coffee cart, too. 😉
Looove the cart! So gealous! 😉
Thanks! I’ll make you a drink next time you’re in Copenhagen 😉
I meant jealous! 😉
She’s a beauty!
Thanks Rochelle!

I just googled buy vintage bar cart Copenhagen and this was my Ideal Bar trolley. Nice find lady! and love how you have styled it. Thanks for the heads up on the store ‘Old’ I never heard of it, cant wait to check it out.
Hi Fiona, thank you so much for your comment. I waited for this bar car for a looooong time and I agree that it’s just perfect! But OLD often have bar carts, alternatively try @Vintage415_ or @habengood on Instagram – two other local vintage stores that sometimes have similar bar carts. Good luck with the search!
So cool!
I wish I found one in gold too, but ended up with a black one for now. I made a post about it, take a look on my blog if you want. 🙂
